Privacy policy for my games

I’m Dogan Kutbay (Doğan Kutbay), an independent game developer. This policy applies to mobile games I publish that link to this page, and to support requests about those games. It does not cover unrelated websites or games from other developers.

I am responsible for the personal information I process as the developer (the data controller under European data protection law). In this policy, ‘I’, ‘me’, and ‘my’ refer to Dogan Kutbay.

Features and data use can differ between games. The advertising sections apply to games that use Google AdMob. Any additional game-specific privacy notice explains practices specific to that game and supplements this policy.

Game data: a game may store progress, scores, preferences, and settings on your device so you can continue playing. Data stored only on your device is not sent to me merely because it is saved there. Your device’s backup settings may separately affect how local app data is backed up.

Support messages: when you email me, I receive your email address, message, and any information or attachments you choose to include. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is not needed for your request.

Advertising data: in games using AdMob, Google’s Mobile Ads SDK can collect and share your IP address (including an estimate of your general location), device or account identifiers such as an advertising ID, app and ad interactions, and diagnostic information. The data collected depends on the SDK, device settings, consent choices, and ad configuration.

Information is used to provide game features and save settings, respond to support requests, deliver and measure advertising, diagnose technical issues, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet legal obligations. AdMob uses information for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. Where you consent to personalized advertising, information may also be used to tailor ads to your interests.

Some games use Google AdMob to display ads, including rewarded ads where offered. Google and advertising partners process information through their services. Google may act as an independent data controller for some processing, as described in its own privacy information.

Advertising services may use device identifiers and local storage to deliver ads, limit repeated ads, measure results, and detect invalid activity. Non-personalized ads are not necessarily free of data collection or consent requirements.

Google’s privacy policy and its explanation of partner apps describe its data practices and available controls. Where an ad consent message is shown, review its vendor list for the advertising partners and purposes applicable to that game.

Where a game provides an advertising consent message or privacy options, use those controls to accept or reject optional purposes and revisit your choices. You may withdraw consent at any time; withdrawal does not change the lawfulness of earlier processing. If you cannot find the controls, contact me and include the game’s name and your device platform.

You can also manage advertising identifiers and tracking permissions through your device’s privacy settings. These controls vary by operating system and do not necessarily stop all advertising or erase information already collected.

Reading this policy or continuing to play does not itself give consent to optional advertising data use. Where consent is required, it must be obtained separately before that processing occurs.

Recipients can include Google and the advertising partners used in a game, email service providers handling support correspondence, and service providers processing information on my behalf. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to establish or defend legal claims, prevent fraud, or protect users’ safety.

Sharing advertising identifiers and activity for personalized ads may qualify as a ‘sale’, ‘sharing’, or targeted advertising under some US state laws, even when no money is paid for the information itself. The rights below apply where the relevant law covers that processing.

If you are in the European Economic Area (including the European Union), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, applicable data protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase, or receive a portable copy of your personal information, restrict processing, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may also withdraw consent and complain to your local data protection authority.

For processing I control, the legal basis depends on the purpose: performance of a contract to provide requested game features or support; legitimate interests in resolving technical problems, responding to enquiries, and preventing abuse, balanced against your rights; compliance with legal obligations; or consent for optional processing where required. Consent is the basis for personalized advertising where required, and for accessing or storing information on your device where applicable law requires it.

To exercise your rights, email the contact below. I will respond within the period required by applicable law, normally one month for GDPR requests, and explain any permitted extension or reason a request cannot be fulfilled.

Depending on your state and whether its privacy law applies, you may have rights to know about and access personal information, obtain a copy, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, and opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. California residents may also have a right to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information. You have a right not to receive unlawful discriminatory treatment for exercising applicable privacy rights.

Use the game’s available privacy controls for advertising choices. You can also email me with the game name and the request ‘Do not sell or share my personal information’ or another privacy request. Where required by law, applicable opt-out preference signals must also be honored. A browser signal sent to this website does not automatically identify a separate game installation.

I may request information reasonably needed to verify access, correction, or deletion requests, but please do not send identity documents unless requested. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law, subject to appropriate proof of authority. If a request is denied, you can reply to appeal where your state provides that right. I will explain the decision and any available further complaint route within the applicable legal deadline.

Local game data remains on your device until it is removed by the game, cleared through device settings, or removed with the app, subject to operating-system and backup behavior. Clearing app data can permanently remove your progress.

I retain support correspondence for as long as needed to handle the request and related follow-up, resolve disputes, and meet applicable legal obligations. Retention depends on the nature of the request and any required recordkeeping. You can request deletion using the contact below.

Google and other independent providers set retention periods for information they control under their own policies. Uninstalling a game does not automatically delete information those providers have already received. Using advertising and email services may involve processing information outside your country, including in the United States, where data protection laws can differ. Where European law requires safeguards for a transfer I arrange, the transfer must rely on a valid mechanism such as an adequacy decision or approved standard contractual clauses. Contact me for information about safeguards relevant to your data. Google describes its own transfer safeguards in its privacy information.

I use reasonable measures appropriate to the information I handle to protect it from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Children’s data has additional protections. In the United States, COPPA applies to certain collection from children under 13. In Europe, the age at which a child can independently consent to certain online processing varies by country, generally between 13 and 16. A store age rating alone does not determine which privacy protections apply.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a game has collected your child’s personal information without required authorization, contact me with the game name and relevant details. I will investigate and take appropriate steps, including deletion of information I control where required. Any game directed to children requires disclosures and protections specific to its audience and data practices.

I may update this policy when game features, service providers, or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the latest update. Material changes will be communicated as required by law, and new consent will be requested where required.
